Tuscany is not only art and history. This beautiful region is also filled with green countryside whose serenity and beauty has even attracted international stars. Chianti Valley is the perfect example of country vineyards and olive groves. Val D’Orcia is another example of picturesque rolling hills. Of course we can’t talk of the beauties of Tuscany without mentioning food and wine. Tuscany is a land of unforgettable flavors and aromas – meat, fish, wine are among the many specialties that can be tasted in the region. The menus are long in this region.
The specialty Tuscan meat is the precious Chianina; fish specialties include caciucco Livornese; cheeses include the famous Pecorino and all its variants; cold cuts made with fennel, wild boar ham, and the legendary colonnata lard. There is an endless selection of IGT protected regional products which will have you licking your fingers!
We must speak of the incredible wine selection that Tuscany has to offer. There is an abundance of top quality wine with a great number of DOCG and DOC wines that ensure manufacturing and production excellence. Included in these wines are Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino and Nobile di Montepulciano.
