It is one of the most important and most anticipated events in the wine world on a global level. May is the month to mark in your diaries if you’re a wine enthusiast thanks to Wine Spectator’s Grand Tour of Wine: 3 US cities and 3 important tastings.

The famous American magazine which is entirely dedicated to the world of wine has compiled a list of 240 wines, especially those which have received a score higher than 90/100 according to their editors. Selected companies will be part of the exclusive road show which will begin on May 6 in Las Vegas, followed by Chicago (May 9) and Miami (May 12) for 3 evenings of great wines and haute cuisine. “The Grand Tour is an adventure not to be missed” – said Thomas Matthews, executive editor of Wine Spectator – “every producer will present you something wonderful and delicious!”

American tastings will have as their protagonist Italy, especially Tuscany, which is home to some of the most famous wines in the world. It is here, on the enchanting hills of the Val d’Orcia and Val di Chiana, where lies the historic town of Montalcino –  a must for wine lovers around the world. Brunello, a wine produced from the Sangiovese vineyards will be in Las Vegas, Chicago and Miami thanks as many as 16 Italian wineries, among which is Carpineto, with its Brunello produced on the beautiful grounds of Forteto Dragon, an ancient forest that is located in a beautiful valley dominated by the profile of Montalcino and in the distance, the rolling hills of Val d’Orcia.

This is quite an important recognition for the Carpineto Brunello, which is added to that of the Nobile di Montepulciano, selected for 3 consecutive years by Wine Spectator and shortlisted also by Opera Wine, a VinItaly pre-event in Verona which rewards the top 100 vintage wines.
