Red Wine Cake Recipe


We all know that wine makes most things better, and that includes dessert! Especially if it is a main ingredient! Add it to a cake and it becomes a temptation that is a bit too hard to resist. This is a dessert you can easily prepare at home by following this simple recipe:

¾ cup red wine
1 cup butter
½ tablespoon of ground cloves
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 cup of sifted flour
1 cup of sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
4 medium eggs
1 tablespoon of cinnamon
5 ounces of chopped dark chocolate

Cut the butter up in small cubes and melt over low heat with sugar until it forms a soft cream. Add egg yolks, cinnamon, cloves, cocoa powder and red wine. Mix until color and consistency are uniform. Transfer the mixture into another container. Add the sifted flour and baking powder. Continue stirring. Blend the egg whites until they form stiff peaks. Add them carefully to the dark chocolate. Grease a cake pan and add mixture. Bake for 90 minutes at 350°F.
