Why a red wine face mask?

Why a red wine face mask?

What about using leftover wine for some original and homemade facial treatment?

Like for drinking, Polyphenols in red wine when used in skin care stimulate blood circulation, rejuvenate and increase skin elasticity and fight free radicals.  These properties whiten and leave skin bright and glowing and have the power to detox it from disorders such as acne and eczema.

It is important to preserve the polyphenols and flavor in red wine, keeping the bottle closed to avoid the oxidation process, which leaves the wine undrinkable and ineffective for skin care.

When ready, pour your leftover wine from the bottle and prepare yourself a luxurious red wine facial mask.

Clean your face and neck with fresh water or have a steam bath to cleanse them from all make up and to open your pores. Lie down, place a towel under your head, 2 cucumber slices on your eyes and enjoy pampering yourself with this special spa treatment.

A basic red wine facemask that will make your skin look younger, extra vibrant and silky smooth.

The egg white and red wine form a super skin toner, tighten your skin and are a powerful anti-aging force, whilst honey attracts moisture and keeps it there where it should be: under your skin.

What do you need:

  • 1 Egg white
  • 3 tablespoons Red Wine
  • 1 tablespoons organic Honey

How to do it:

Gently mix the egg white, red wine and honey until you have a smooth cream

Spread the paste gently and equally with your fingertips on your clean face and neck; keep the eye area clear

Now lie down, relax and leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes

Then wash it off with warm water and end with a splash of cold; pat your skin dry with a clean towel. Finally apply a moisturizer; this way you “seal” your skin so the water is kept inside.
